July 28, 2014

Dear Family,

Thank you so much for your letters this week. They always mean so much. As for actual "letters", where are you sending them?  If you're sending them to the mission office I won't get them until Thursday when we have Zone Conference.

I've been doing alright this week. Elder McCammon... not so much. He got a virus and has been down and out since Friday. He's been all nauseous and getting chills and stuff. I hate being all cooped up the in Flat, it's no fun. All I can do is read stuff and watch church videos, which I've already seen a million times.

This week has been pretty rough for us, too. We've been finding every day. We had a couple of set teaching appointments, but all but two fell through. And one of them that did work, he is now moving to Peterborough. So, yeah, we're just concerned with building a teaching pool.

Being a District Leader is fun stuff. I like to hear all about how the missionaries are doing over here and receive revelation for all of them and stuff. Accounting with the zone leaders can be a little scary sometimes but they're really great guys and they love the Zone a lot.

Ah, I just love working with less-actives. It's so rewarding. It's exactly what Jesus would do - leave his ninety and nine just to go and get the one.

Speaking of less-actives, one of the Senior couples, the Mechams, are going home the end of the transfer and that means that the ward is going to have to step it up when it comes to reactivating. Last time I checked, the Oxford 1st Ward is around 50% active. The rest of England is a bit lower. It all comes down to love. That's a main reason why members stay active, or come back. It's because they feel loved.

Okay, so I've been looking around at suits and I want to get a good one. It'll probably be around £100. You guys can do the conversions. One pair of my shoes are getting a little worn but the other are doing great. I probably won't need another pair for quite some time. I'm not so sure about them making it the whole mission, though. Honestly, I'm doing alright. I know that's what you expect me to say because that's just me. But I really am doing good. Really. I would just appreciate a new suit.

It seems like so much is going on at home while I'm gone. I'm trying to remember who Bro. Hildreth is.... I don't really remember. Sorry he died.  It's getting to the point where I don't remember lots of stuff about home. But that's alright, because it's much easier to forget myself and go to work.

A new Sister will be coming into my District this week, as well! She's from Italy! She'll be here on Thursday. I'm excited to meet her.

Pray that we find the elect, through the members, and that the less-active feel loved, and come back.

Love to all,

Elder Glasgow

Dear Family,

Thank you again for your wonderful letters. I love reading them so much every week!

If you didn't know, this week is moves! And guess what? I'm staying and my companion, Elder Herrod, is going to be the new Zone Leader in the Maidstone Zone. He can't wait! Other good news, I was made the District Leader! Yup, never thought I would see the day.

This week has been kinda crazy, again. I went on two exchanges both outside of my area so I haven't really been in Oxford too much, but we have picked up some new investigators and I think they're really solid. Klhoe and Roy, just to name a few.

Elder Herrod and I have also started running every morning. I don't know how long it will last with the new comp though... Oh, my new comps name is Elder McCammon. I know nothing about him. I may have met him once or twice but I can't remember...

I'm super excited about next transfer, though. I'm putting together the vision I want my District to have and I think it will help a lot. It's kinda scary taking on all this responsibility, though. My District is one of the biggest in the mission!

I'm doing good, just so you know. We've been doing alot of finding and we've recieved quite a lot of referrals lately and I am praying that they will turn into new investigators.

This morning I had a really great study, as well, and I think it has set the mood for my goals that I want to set for this next transfer. Fearing God more than Man. That was the Pharisee's problem. They loved the praise of men and disregarded the praise of God but it's the praise of God I want!

Sadly, I haven't really taken many pictures this week... So I don't really have any to send.... I'm going to do better, I promise!!!

Have a great week. I love all you guys,

Elder Glasgow

Dear Family,

Again, I'm sorry about last week.  That was a very short letter.  We had some Elders from Crawthorne come over. It was loads of fun, though. I'm finally playing some football here in England. I'm still pretty rubbish, though. haha.

Elder Herrod and I can never catch a break! It seems like so much has happened the past two weeks but our numbers have been so weak! We did have a chance to paint a less active families house and her neighhbor and taught her a bit too!

My fourth of July was....uneventful. We made some burgers at our flat but that was about it. No fireworks or anything. Man, I miss America. It's just such a great country. You guys are blessed to be there right now.

Hmm, maybe if you guys want, cuz Elder Herrod is from San Diego, like right there in Carlsbad, I could have him get his parents info so you could meet them when you go over for vacation? Just an idea. I think it would be pretty cool.

So, prayers. I need you guys to pray for Hazel that she will be willing to listen to us, Caroline that she will accept a baptismal date and Rio that he will start coming to church and progress. That would help loads.

I just love you guys so much and can't wait until I can be there with you fishing and swimming and all that fun stuff.

Thank you for the emails!  Keep them coming.

Everyone else, I'm cannon.glasgow@myldsmail.net

Love, Elder Glasgow
